What's My World My Home?

Over the course of a year, you’ll plan and organise a local community campaign that will positively benefit the local environment.

What’s in it for me?

  • You’ll learn how to make positive changes happen in your community or college
  • Build your confidence in public speaking, or in one-to-one conversations
  • Meet other young people who share your concerns for the environment
  • A 3-day, all expenses paid residential trip with other student activists

How does it work?

As part of the course, you'll receive:

  • 2 days of intensive training in community campaigning in your home city
  • Fortnightly one-to-one tuition and coaching

Graduation takes place at Friend of the Earth's national youth gathering in July, with environmentalists from across the UK.

Our Bright Future

My World My Home is part of Our Bright Future, a £33 million programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and run by a consortium of 8 organisations which is led by The Wildlife Trusts.

Our Bright Future aims to tackle 3 big challenges facing society today:

  • lack of social cohesion
  • lack of opportunities for young people
  • vulnerability to climate breakdown.

31 youth-led projects across the UK are each receiving around £1m of funding to give young people the skills and knowledge to improve their local environments – from reducing marine pollution to minimising food waste.

This young, ambitious and capable movement is ensuring that this generation’s voice is heard in the current debates around environmental improvements and a resource-efficient economy.
